Weekly Check-in

Complete the following Weekly Check-In form each Friday before 12 pm CT.

We’re determined to make sure your new work experience is the best possible! Part of this is helping you provide solid, regular updates to your manager on what you accomplish week over week.  A copy of your responses will be automatically emailed to your manager. After completing the Check-In form, you will also be prompted to rate your current experience and let the Ampersand Coaching Team know if we can support you in any way in your new role. These answers will not be shared with your manager.

Refer to the responses below for examples of an effective check-in!

An effective Weekly Check-In:
  • is concise but thoughtful (you want to keep it short, but include enough detail to make each update valuable; your responses should not be the same every week)
  • includes numbers (ex. total number of something, the percentage growth of something, etc.)
  • includes information that your manager cares about (if you're unsure what they want to be updated on or how much detail to include, ask them.)
Example of an effective Weekly Check-In
What are the top 3 to 5 tasks you completed this week?
  • 1.  Reviewed all 32 blogs on the company website, categorized them into 5 buckets, and identified 10 topics for future blog content (refer to my follow-up email for further details on this).
  • 2. Created a newsletter tracking spreadsheet.
  • 3. Drafted graphics for two weeks of Instagram posts (currently under review by Marketing Director).

What are the top 3 to 5 tasks you are planning to complete next week?

  • 1. Begin tracking social engagement across all company platforms.
  • 2. Finalize six graphics and copy for Instagram posts for the following two weeks.
  • 3. Meet with the Marketing Coordinator and revise the quarter's social media calendar.

Any other comments you'd like to share with your manager?

I expect to have extra time next week, given that the blog project is wrapped up now. Please let me know if there are any other projects that I can get started on early next week. Thanks!
